Presented is a fantastic quality antique French cased glass vase, dating to the mid 1800s. The vase is a vibrant red, over white glass on the interior and with clear glass on the exterior, which gives the color and decoration a wonderful quality of depth. Due to this layering of glass, the actual color can look a little more pink than in the photos, though it is really dependent on the lighting, distance, etc. The vase has beautiful gold gilt decoration around the widest point, in a Greek key or meander pattern above a classical palmette design, with smaller borders of decoration around the foot and neck.

This piece is in great overall condition. There is some loss to the gilding, particularly to the foot, shoulder, and rim. There are no chips, no cracks, no breaks, and no repairs. The vase stands about 13 inches tall and measures about 5 1/2 inches in diameter at the widest point.
