This is the largest of the Daum daffodil (Jonquilles) collection and is truly breathtaking! This is an extraordinary opportunity to own this work of art at this price. The weight and delicacy of the craftsmanship will blow you away! During the Art Nouveau period Daum Flourished as a family run company. During the early 1900s Daum's glass became more elaborate as Jacques Gruber incorporated the acid etching method along with carving and engraving to produce the most stunning creations.
These creations also feature applied glass elements, such as handles and ornamental motifs in naturalistic forms. The Daum brothers quickly moved on to become one of the major forces in the Art Nouveau movement, seriously rivalling Gallé, so much so that when Émile Gallé died in 1904 they became the leaders in the field of decorative glass. Daum still uses their once primitive methods to create fantastic sculptures for the world today. See photos for the flaws. Additionally one trumpet blossom was professionally repaired.
