Welcome to Antiques & Moore! This listing is for a pair of lovely French Art Glass miniature cabinet vases, c. The vases are a mirrored image and were designed to be displayed as a pair. The vases have the style of French cameo glass vases from the early period of the 20th Century. These v ases are possibly the work of French artist Peynaud who was known for producing enamel decorated miniature cabinet vases such as this pair.

These small "Mignonette" vases were designed as decorative objects only and were intended solely to be used as cabinet pieces. Often these miniature vases were created in cameo glass by French glass artists such as Galle and Legras.

The design is achieved from two or more layers of glass cut back to create a dimensional effect with the background having a textured finish. Although these vases have a similar look, the production was much less expensive and therefore more affordable for collectors. Measure 2 3/8" high with a 3/4" diameter top and a 1 3/8 diameter base. Combined weight is 2.3 ounces.

One vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws although the second vase has a faint rim chip/flake on the outside of the rim that is hardly noticed. Please view all photos as part of description.
