Pair of French Antique glass vases, Japanese inspired art. Signed Alphonse Giroux Paris, 19th century. Very unusual shape with bronze floral and insect ornaments bronze mounted on 4 legs. The activity of the Giroux house extended from 1799 to the end of the Second Empire. Created by François-Simon-Alphone Giroux, his son Alphonse-Gustave and his brother André took it over in 1838.
Specializing in the manufacture of refined objects for gifts, Louis XVIII and Charles X frequented it. It was greatly influenced by a Japanese movement from 1860 to 1870, as this pair of vases shows. The house closed in 1885. No chips or cracks on the glass, some missing bronze piece(please see the photos as part of a description).
