Welcome To The Antique Cabinet. For your consideration is a very rare BACCARAT Cameo Art Glass Vase, circa 1900. This is a very elegant and not often found example of BACCARAT Glass.
The vase has a slightly tapered cylindrical body with a star cut bottom. The top and bottom are beautifully decorated with an ivy foliage design. The center of vase is decorated on both sides with a mythical dragon type, fire breathing creature. The combination of nice soft color tones and the amazingly executed acid cut/etching and gilt work really give this piece a high-quality glow and feel. Upon extensive research, we were able to find only a very few pieces of this rare glass. An example of this style glass can also be referenced in the Giuseppe Cappa, Le Génie Verrier de l'Europe glass book no. 295 as seen in pic. This vase is a fairly large and heavy piece measuring approx. 12 tall by 4¼ wide. It is in Excellent condition, free of any chips cracks or repairs with very light age-related wear and gilt loss.
