6" HIGH, 5" WIDE AND 2 DEEP. THE HAND BLOWN CRYSTAL HAS A SHEER, VIOLET-PINK COLOR, AND GLOSSY, IRIDESCENT, METALLIC LUSTRE, CHANGING COLOR AT DIFFERENT ANGLES AND LIGHTING.

THE LUSTRE IS UNLIKE ANY BACCARAT GLASS I HAVE SEEN, MAKING THIS PAIR OF VASES QUITE UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL! MANGANESE OXIDES TEND TO TURN GLASS GREY-BLUE-VIOLET OVER TIME, BUT THESE ARE QUITE DIFFERENT, AND HAVE THE CHARACTERISTIC PINK / PURPLE / VIOLET COLORS OF ALEXANDRITE / NEODYMIUM.

ADDITIONALLY, GLASS WITH MANGANESE TYPICALLY FLUORESCES DULL GREEN UNDER UV LIGHT, AND THESE VASES DO NOT. PLEASE REVIEW THE PHOTOS AND ASSESS THEM FOR YOURSELF. THE RESULT IS A UNIQUE AND BEAUTIFUL, MATCHED PAIR OF CRYSTAL VASES, SAFELY KEPT AND ADMIRED BY A FRENCH ESTATE FOR AT LEAST 140 YEARS. THIS KNOWN BACCARAT MODEL, IN THE CLEAR CRYSTAL VERSION, HAS BEEN COMBINED WITH WORKS BY FRENCH MASTER BRONZE-SMITH, EDMOND ENOT, FOR L'ESCALIER DE CRISTAL, AND HAS BEEN OFFERED IN BOTH SMOOTH AND CARVED DECOR. HOWEVER, THIS IS THE FIRST EXAMPLE OF THIS PARTICULAR MODEL VASE, THAT I HAVE FOUND IN PINK-VIOLET, METALLIC LUSTRE, OR WITH ENAMELING.

I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS BACCARAT MODEL IN ANYTHING BUT CLEAR. WHETHER ONE CONSIDERS THE GLASS TO BE ALEXANDRITE OR NOT, THE STUNNING VIOLET-PINK COLOR AND SEMI-METALLIC LUSTRE ARE SO RARE, IT BEGS THE QUESTION, WAS THIS MATCHED PAIR OF VASES A BESPOKE CREATION BY MAISON BACCARAT, PER SPECIFIC ORDER? ARE THEY A'ONE-OFF' THAT WAS NEVER REPLICATED?

WHEN HAVE WE EVER SEEN THIS COLOR, THIS LUSTRE, AND THIS HEAVY ENAMELING, ON THIS MODEL BY BACCARAT, LET ALONE ALL THREE ATTRIBUTES COMBINED INTO THE ONE DECOR, AND AS A MATCHED PAIR, NO LESS? I'M THE FIRST TO ADMIT THAT I HAVE NOT SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS DECOR BY BACCARAT, AND DOUBT I WILL SEE IT AGAIN, BUT WOULD GLADLY HEAR FROM ANYONE WHO HAS.

IN PHOTOS 4 AND 5, THERE IS AN'ORANGE PEEL' REFLECTION FROM THE LIGHT-BOX INTERIOR, ON THE SURFACE OF THE VASE. THE GLASS ITSELF IS NOT MARRED. THE GLASS AND DECOR ARE IN EXCELLENT CONDITION.

3 PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO ASK ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE, AND REVIEW THE PHOTOS FOR DESCRIPTION.
