Art Deco Glass Vase Lines Stripes Unsigned Antique French France Unsigned Daum Bandes Description and Item Information Up for sale is this large, old French art glass vase. Please excuse any glare in the photos. This vase is orange and green, with thin, vertical, dark stripes and a ribbed texture. The vase has a frosted / matte finish on the exterior and the lower portion of the interior; the upper part of the interior is glossy. This large piece is approximately 14 1/4 inches tall, with a maximum diameter of about 6 3/4 inches.
Unpacked, it weighs 5 pounds 5.6 ounces. There is a polished pontil area beneath, as shown. This would be a fabulous addition to a collection of European art deco glass.
Identification This vase is unsigned, antique French art glass, circa early 20th century. It is attributed to Daum, in a decoration style known as "Bandes, " which appears to be uncommon or rare. Condition The vase looks good overall, with no cracks or chips. The vertical stripes are discontinuous or possibly worn away in some areas. There are scattered scuffs, scratches, and metallic marks. The base has wear scratches, as expected for a heavy, old glass piece. There is a small patch of price sticker residue to the interior neck area, and I have not tried to remove this. Payments must be received within three days of the end of the listing, unless prior arrangements have been made. And international government regulations prohibit such behavior.
