Antique Vase Emile Galle Signed Finest French Art Glass Cameo Landscape 1900-s
The author of the work is master Emile Galle, French designer, the representative of modernist style (French: art nouveau), the reformer of art glass. He used the technique of "moonlight" (clair-de-lune; coloring with the help of cobaltous oxide that added sapphire tint to the glass). The work from laminated glass (processed with dyes, acid and carving), with the surface resembling cameos from transparent gem was created. Weight: 1.28 pounds (583 grams). There are two almost undistinguishable minor chips on the vase neck (see the photo).
