Antique French Neoclassical Opaline Ewer. A true antique original dating from the French empire period 1810 to 1840 Napoleonic era, opaline with applied gilt gold doré bronze ormolu mounts. A distinctive French empire red portrait painted of a classical figure in front with all kinds of 24k gold decorated design around the portrait as well as stylized blue and gold patterns.

The handle itself is an integrated bronze acanthus leaves motif in gilt bronze fashioned as an organic handle which is also functional. No breaks, cracks, restorations, or hairlines. Minimal gold wear consistent with age.
