A very tall Galle vase with bearded irises Date : 1906- 1914 Origin : Nancy, France Bowl Features : At 17 1/2 inches tall this is very large. The decoration is bearded irises and a kaleidoscope of butterflies, plum coloured leaved and lilac and lavender flowers on an and etched apricot ground Marks : Galle cameo Type : Lead glass Size : 45cms tall Condition :Very good. A few light scuff marks only Restoration : None Weight : 6360grams. The greek epsillon and the manner in which the underscore intersects the tail of the letter G in Galle is a variant used after 1906 until the outbreak of the first war. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971.
