Heading : A Rene Lalique glass Meandres vase. Date : Designed 1934, Marcilhac 10-876 Origin : Wingen-Sur-Moder, Alsace, France. Colour : Clear and charcoal grey Bowl Features : Clear raised meanders with charcoal grey stained recessed textured bands. Signed R Lalique to base Type : Lead glass (Lalique demi-crystal) Size : 16.5cm tall Condition : Light scratches on the base, otherwise very good Restoration : None Weight : 3066 grams. Additional Information : The acid etched mark R. Lalique France is on the base and is visible. This is deco art glass at it's most striking. Meandres' represents a bench mark period in Lalique's output by apparently moving with the winds of time and the move towards Art Moderne. The comparison with the extensive range of similar technique and form by Daum is inevitable whilst it should be remembered similar works by Lalique are relatively rare. I have been involved in the antiques business since 1971.
