Large Legras Mont Joye St Denis Gilt & Enameled Cameo Glass Vase

Spectacular Documented Legras Mt Joye St. Denis Gilt & Enameled Cameo Glass Vase. This lovely Legras cameo glass gilt and enameled vase is absolutely stunning in person. This piece is documented on page 341 in a Legras factory colored catalog page reprint in the wonderful Legras book,''François-Théodore Legras, verrerie artistique et populaire française'' by Marie-Françoise et Jean-François MICHEL, Dominique et Jean VITRAT. I cannot recommend this book enough for anyone with an interest in Legras, French, or Victorian to Art Deco era Art Glass.

Acid cut back textured and frosted ground, vertically ribbed, with acid cut back wild violets or Johnny Jump Ups, going around the entire piece. The flowers, stems and leaves are outlined in gold gilt enamel. Lovely shape, with a large polished pontil on the base. St Denis / Legras / Mt Joye glass were all the same company with various trade names attached. In outstanding antique condition, no chips, cracks or other issues.
