Daum Étrangeté Sous un Mur Vase by Philippe Starck 1988
There are examples in several museum collections around the world including the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York. Signed on glass edge'Daum Starck'. The Étrangeté Sous un Mur Vase, was part of a Philippe Starck collaboration with Daum designed originally for The Royalton Hotel, New York. The piece displays very well being particularly striking in this green colour. It is in a minimalist design with thick, vibrant green glass against clear glass that allows the vase to be free standing, the sheet of glass is supported by a Green horn that holds the flower stems.
This is one of an edition of a variety of pieces originally designed for the cutting edge New York hotel, The Royalton. The Vase measures approximately 19 1/4 x 11 3/8 x 12 (48.9 x 28.9 x 30.5 cm) which makes it a substantial piece which has great presence within a room. It is in stunning condition and it looks exactly as it did when I first bought.
I also still have the original crate/Box from Daum which I will use to despatch the piece which will be very well packed. Perfect for the twentieth century design collector with an eye for contemporary design, or the Phillipe Starck or DAUM.
